Hardwood ranges

Solid rubberwood (Hevea brasiliensis), a dense, close-grained hardwood
harvested from plantation trees at the end of their latex-producing life. Kiln-dried to
stabilise moisture content, machined, then sanded progressively to a 220 grit finish so
there are no raised edges or splinter risks.

Colour comes from a water-based, non-toxic stain, not a surface paint — it soaks
into the grain rather than sitting on top, so it does not chip off in flakes.

Foam ranges

High-density closed-cell EVA foam with a sealed wipe-clean skin. Free of BPA,
phthalates, PVC, latex and formaldehyde. Dense enough to stack without deforming,
light enough that being hit with one does not hurt.

Testing & standards

All products are tested to ASTM F963, the US consumer safety
specification for toy safety, covering mechanical and physical properties, flammability,
and heavy-element content in surface coatings. Our finishes are also tested against the
CPSIA lead and phthalate limits.

Age guidance is printed on every box, not just on the website. Where a set contains any
piece that fits inside a small-parts cylinder, it is marked 3+ regardless of how the rest
of the set would rate.

Care

• Hardwood: wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not soak or put in a dishwasher.
• Foam: wipe with mild soap and water; the sealed skin will not absorb it.
• Both: store dry. Wood left damp will eventually swell, which is what makes
  pieces stop sitting level.
